Action: Recording Utopia

Action: Recording Utopia

In an era, where the future is often overshadowed by the present polycrisis, the need for collaborative approaches to envisioning and shaping tomorrow has never been more urgent. The actors of change are already among us; now is the time to listen, to reclaim futures beyond crises, and to collectively reimagine alternative paths forward.

We aim to create a fluid archive of futures within a physical, mobile radio studio. This dynamic platform will facilitate collaborative research, discussions, and the dissemination of future-oriented ideas and solutions. By engaging with local actors and participants of the Biennale, we will establish an interactive space where disciplinary boundaries are transcended, and the act of imagining futures becomes a visible, accessible, and collective pursuit.

“Recording Utopias” will leverage the versatility of the mobile radio studio to integrate seamlessly with the Biennale’s program and the unique context of Lugano through radiowalks, discussions, and participatory formats. As an urban practice and space activator, our project engages with various local structures and individuals, not just to claim futures as a collective space for action, but to position ourselves as architects of tomorrow.

This mobile radio studio is more than a tool for broadcasting ideas; it also serves as an evolving archive, weaving together the diverse threads of our community into a rich tapestry of future possibilities. Collaborating with the Brandenburg-based radio collective, Radio Industry, we will enhance the project’s impact and reach through their expertise and resources in radio production. Join us in this bold endeavor to reclaim the future, one broadcast at a time.
