Promenade “LAC2LAC”
Promenade “LAC2LAC”
The project is intended to give concrete meaning to the opportunity presented by the restoration and re-commissioning of the Angioli funicular. An act that must first find references and objectives through a landscape vision in close relation to the urban area of 'Greater Lugano'.
The rediscovery of the Tassino valley as a green nature trail and at the same time as an urban park is an opportunity that the city must be able to seize. The basic idea is to link, through the use of the park, the two lakes and at the same time the two worlds to which they belong: Lake Ceresio with the historical centre of Lugano and the Quai of the early 20th century, and the small lake of Muzzano with the diffuse landscape of the city's green belt.
In the centre, as an entrance to the park and a junction towards the Tassino park and the FFS station, an area dedicated to culture, recreation and landscape art is planned. The new structure will be able to complete the LAC pole by hosting those contents useful for the enrichment and response of the cultural offer (not feasible at the level of Piazza Luini). The underground volume of the large embankment will also be able to accommodate a parking garage.
The walk lasts 1h15 min for a total of 4 km. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
